Ashley Ramos, LMFT, CST

Welcome!

I'm Ashley (she/her), a passionate and dedicated therapist specializing in individual and relationship therapy with a focus on intimacy and sexual health. I offer a warm, open space where you can explore your inner world, deepen your relationships, and reconnect with pleasure, confidence, and meaning.

I’m the founder of Insightful Intimacy Therapy and an AASECT-certified sex therapist, which means I’ve completed extensive post-graduate training in sexual health, therapy, and clinical supervision. My work centers around supporting diverse individuals and couples—including those in LGBTQ+, kink/BDSM, and non-monogamous communities—who are seeking support around intimacy, identity, and self-trust. I frequently work with women exploring desire and orgasm, couples managing differences in sexual desire, and anyone navigating the complexity of shame, pleasure, and connection.

My approach draws from attachment theory, existential and narrative therapies, and sex therapy frameworks. I tailor each session to meet your unique needs—whether that means unpacking identity, shifting old patterns, or creating new rituals for connection. My work is grounded in the belief that healing happens in relationship—to self, others, and the body.

 My Story

I'm a certified sex therapist through AASECT, the leading organization for advancing the highest standards in sexual health and therapy. But long before my certification, my journey began with a deep curiosity about human sexuality and a passion for helping people feel empowered in their bodies and relationships.

In college, I served as a teaching assistant for a pleasure-focused sex education course, where I supported students in understanding their desires, learning about their bodies, and practicing open, shame-free communication around sex. That experience sparked a fire in me for creating spaces where sexual wellbeing is treated as integral to overall mental health.

I went on to spend three years as a sex researcher and lab manager, studying the stigma experienced by LGBTQ+, kinky, and consensually non-monogamous (CNM) communities. As someone who personally identifies as kinky and non-monogamous, this work was both professional and deeply personal. It led to several publications aimed at helping therapists become more affirming, inclusive, and clinically competent when working with clients across the spectrum of identity and desire.

Now in private practice, I specialize in supporting individuals and couples in reclaiming their sexual agency, healing from shame, and cultivating deeper intimacy—both with themselves and with others. Whether you're navigating challenges with desire, exploring identity, or simply longing to feel more connected and alive, you deserve a space where your experience is honored and your growth is supported.
